ジャパンハート、国連より「2020 United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases Award」を受賞!

We are pleased to announce that Japan Heart was awarded the 2020 United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases Award by the United Nations.

This award recognises NPOs, NGOs, government ministries, and academic institutions that have demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the prevention and control of NCDs, mental health or other NCD-related SDGs at a local, national, regional or international level.

Japan Heart was recognised for its significant contribution to the reduction of deaths from non-communicable diseases in children in Southeast Asia which was achieved through paediatric surgical treatment, advanced specialised medical care, paediatric cancer treatment in Cambodia, the construction of volunteer schemes, and human resource development at base locations.

At the United Nations General Assembly, the winners were announced by Mr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Secretary General of the World Health Organisation. It is such a great honour to have our name included to receive this award and all of the staff at Japan Heart are delighted.

We at Japan Heart offer our sincere appreciation to all of the supporters and donors who make our activities possible; the doctors, nurses and other medical professionals who volunteer their time and skill; and the non-medical professionals who run our organisation behind the scenes. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
